Dunkin’ is marking National Proposal Day Today with a promotion that is hard to categorize but easy to appreciate. At participating locations nationwide today, customers who purchase a 25 or 50-count order of Munchkins Donut Hole Treats will receive a complimentary limited-edition pink ring box stamped with the phrase ‘I Dough,’ while supplies last.
Inside each box is a single Wedding Cake Munchkins donut hole, a glazed blueberry cake donut hole finished with wedding cake-flavored sprinkles. The offer is valid Today only and cannot be combined with any other promotion.
National Proposal Day is an unofficial holiday that aligns with the start of spring and the engagement and wedding season that typically follows. Dunkin’ used the occasion to launch one of its more creative seasonal promotions in recent memory.
What the Wedding Cake Munchkins actually taste like
The Wedding Cake Munchkins are part of Dunkin’s spring menu, which launched on March 4. The flavor is built around a glazed blueberry cake donut hole base, coated in wedding cake-flavored sprinkles. The combination was designed specifically around the National Proposal Day promotion and is available at participating locations.
The ring box itself is meant to be used however customers see fit. Dunkin’ has positioned it as an option for marriage proposals, bridesmaid asks, vow renewals, or simply a lighthearted way to celebrate the first day of spring.
The Vera Wang contest and what you could win
Dunkin’ is running a contest alongside the ring box promotion in collaboration with designer Vera Wang. The contest runs from March 20 through April 3, and one winner will receive a full bridal salon experience at one of Wang’s flagship locations in either New York City or Beverly Hills, California.
To enter, customers must post a video featuring the “I Dough” ring box during a proposal moment on Instagram or TikTok. The post must tag @dunkin and @verawanggang on Instagram, or @verawang on TikTok, and include the hashtag #DunkinVeraWangcontest.
The selected winner will choose a wedding gown from Wang’s salon. Wang will then embroider the winner’s regular Dunkin’ order inside the gown as a personalized detail, a playful riff on the traditional bridal custom of carrying something special on the wedding day.
There is also a merchandise line launching today
A limited-edition ‘Something Brewed’ collection is available starting today at 10 a.m. ET at DunkinRunsOnMerch.com. The line was developed in partnership with Vera Wang and includes robes, glass tumblers, sweatshirts, sweatpants, pajama sets, and tote bags. Prices range from $22 to $52, and the collection is available online only while supplies last.
The line is built around wedding mornings and bachelorette weekends, which makes it either a natural extension of the promotion or one of the more unexpected brand collaborations of the year, depending on your perspective.
How to get the ring box before they run out
Visit any participating Dunkin’ location today, order a 25 or 50-count of Munchkins Donut Hole Treats, and the ‘I Dough’ ring box comes with it at no additional charge. The promotion is available while supplies last, so earlier in the day is the safer bet.
For a brand that has always leaned into affordable, everyday indulgence, partnering with one of the most recognized names in bridal fashion is a significant tonal shift. Whether that combination reads as clever or absurd probably depends on whether you leave the drive-through holding a pink ring box. Either way, the donut hole inside costs nothing extra.
