Ice Spice’s late-night McDonald’s run turned into something unexpected

The Bronx rapper was grabbing a late-night meal when a fan confrontation turned physical, and now her attorney is threatening criminal and civil consequences.

Ice Spice had no security with her when she walked into a Hollywood McDonald’s in the early hours of Wednesday morning. She sat down in a booth with a friend, ordered her food and, by all appearances, wanted a quiet night. That is not what she got.

A woman approached the booth and tried to start a conversation. Ice Spice was not interested. She asked the woman to leave. The woman, who later identified herself to TMZ as Vayah, kept pushing. When Ice Spice told her to go, Vayah asked where she was from. Ice Spice’s response was simple and, in retrospect, pretty funny. She told her she was from McDonald’s.

Vayah did not find it funny. She slapped Ice Spice, and the booth turned into a brawl.

The confrontation spills outside

Security footage, which TMZ published on April 17, shows the Bronx rapper jumping across tables and demanding to fight the woman directly. She was loud, she was heated, and by every account she was not backing down. A separate group of individuals entered the situation, and instead of cooling things off, they made them worse.

The confrontation moved outside, where things escalated again. Ice Spice ended up on the ground at one point. Her friend maintained she was pushed by a male who had gotten involved. The whole thing was captured in full, both by McDonald’s cameras inside and by bystanders who pulled out their phones once the fight moved outdoors.

Ice Spice’s attorney responds

Bradford Cohen, who represents Ice Spice, wasted no time. He reported the incident to the LAPD and issued a statement making clear that the people involved had miscalculated badly. Cohen noted that his team had already obtained the footage from inside the restaurant showing the attack was unprovoked, and that the individuals turned their cameras on only after the initial hit, which he suggested was an attempt to shape the narrative in their favor.

Cohen pointed out that those involved had apparently hoped the footage would help them go viral. His message to them was pointed. The only thing going viral for them, he said, would be their mugshots.

His team is also examining whether McDonald’s bears any responsibility for not having adequate security on site.

Vayah tells her side

Vayah spoke to TMZ after the incident and offered a different account. She said Ice Spice had been dismissive and told her to leave the area. When Ice Spice called her a derogatory name, Vayah said, she responded by hitting her. She also claimed Ice Spice picked up her friend’s phone and threw it, cracking the screen.

Vayah said the whole experience changed how she feels about the rapper entirely.

Whether her account shifts any legal exposure remains to be seen. Cohen’s statement made no reference to Ice Spice initiating anything, and the footage from inside the restaurant is expected to be central to how investigators assess the situation.

Where Ice Spice stands now

Ice Spice has not released any new music in 2026. Her most recent release came in December when she collaborated with TOKISCHA on “Thootie.” Before the McDonald’s footage surfaced, her name had been relatively quiet in the news cycle.

That has changed. The clip spread fast across social media, and the legal machinery is now moving alongside it. With an LAPD report filed, civil action being explored, and the restaurant’s security practices under scrutiny, this is no longer just a viral moment. It is a legal matter with real consequences for everyone involved.
