A century of Hollywood history
Since its creation, the Walk of Fame has grown into one of the most recognized cultural landmarks in the world, stretching along Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce administers the attraction on behalf of the city of Los Angeles, overseeing both the selection process and the logistics of each star’s installation.
Founded in 1921, the chamber represents close to 700 member organizations and works to support Hollywood’s business community while preserving its cultural landmarks, including the Walk of Fame and the Hollywood Sign. Members of the public may also submit nominations for future classes, though final selections rest with the committee, which reviews career achievements and contributions to the industry before choosing each year’s honorees.
With 32 names added this year, the Walk of Fame continues to expand its roster of stars representing film, television, music and beyond, cementing Hollywood Boulevard’s reputation as a living archive of entertainment history. Fans eager to see their favorite names embedded in the sidewalk will need to keep an eye on the chamber’s website in the coming months as ceremony dates are gradually announced.
